The history of Gewa dates back to the late 1800's and is firmly entrenched in the beautiful, historic village of Mittenwald, Germany. Long considered to be the cradle of violin making, Mittenwald has been home to luthiers and craftsmen for over 350 years. This tradition lives on today in every instrument crafted by Gewa.
